Get Brewing for our 2nd Annual Pints for Pets Homebrew Competition Fundraiser!

Pints for Pets Homebrew Competition

To those who participated last year, thank you! In hope to improve the event, we are doing things a little differently this year. The judging for the beer will take place behind closed doors on September 7th. We will contact you on where to drop off your homebrews as the date gets closer.

You must submit your entries here. The labels for the beer can be downloaded from here as well.

After the judging is final, the winner will be contacted for the opportunity to can their beer on Rutland Beer Works 20 bbl (700 gallon) system. The winner will not be announced until the beer is officially revealed during the event on October 5th.

The winning beer will be available for sale at the event, and then distributed throughout Rutland County.

The top brewers will also be contacted to be present at the event to explain their beer and answer any questions that the general admissions ticket holders may have as they leisurely sample the top homebrews and vote on the ‘Crowd Favorite,' which will be chosen by the most votes.

Beer Categories Allowed

  1. Light
  2. Dark
  3. IPA

Rules and Regulations

  • Each Homebrewer can enter up to 4 beers with their $25 entry fee.
  • The Judge's Choice winner will be contacted for the opportunity to brew and can their beer on Rutland Beer works 20 bbl (700 gallon) system.
  • All beer names must be animal related (please consider the animals that RCHS cares for: dogs, cats, birds, guinea pigs, rabbits, mice, rats and ferrets). Please keep appropriate.
  • Please attach labels to each beer with the following:
  • Name of Beer
  • Your name
  • Category Entered (Light, Dark & IPA).

  • We require a minimum of 6 bottles per entry (regardless of size, 12 oz preferred)
  • Due to licensing restrictions, we can only judge and produce beer. Please no cider, wine, liquor or other malt beverages.
  •  This is a friendly competition to raise money for the homeless animals of Rutland County, so please have fun!
